IS HUMAN DIET MEANT 2 B CARNIVOROUS?

Actual amount of protein needed by human body :
Our body recycles 70% of the protein waste; hence, we lose only about 23 grams of protein a day. To replenish this lost protein, your body needs only about 690gms of protein a month (which is probably what you eat in 3 sittings of a Non - Vegetarian meal). So, why do we think we must eat huge amounts of meat to be healthy?

Facts about Protein molecules :
What's the truth about meat as a source of protein? The Food and Nutrition Board of the National Research Council states, "One of the biggest fallacies ever perpetuated is that there is any need for so-called 'complete protein' that is believed to be obtained from animal meat." Fact is that protein is composed of amino acids. Amino acids are literally the building blocks of the human body. There are a total of 23 amino acids needed by the body, of which 15 of these our bodies manufacture in the liver -- provided the liver is in good working order. The other 8 amino acids must come from food so the body can build a complete protein; and all the 8 amino acids can be obtained from raw dicotelydons, vegetable sources and fruits.

Facts about Protein from Animal source :
The idea that we must eat meat to supply protein for our bodies is a lie. Factually, our bodies CANNOT assimilate the protein found in meat or any other animal source because of its very complex forms. The food must be digested and broken down into amino acids. The liver re-forms the amino acids into useable protein for our bodies. Furthermore, when meat is cooked the amino acids in the meat are coagulated or destroyed. Meat releases large amounts of uric acid into our bodies when eaten. Uric acid is toxic to the human body. The human body does not even have the enzyme "uricase" to break down uric acid! In order for humans to get any nutritional value from meat it would have to be eaten raw, like the carnivores. However, carnivorous animals, which can live on raw meat, have very little in common with humans.

Here is a list of physiological differences between Man and Carnivore :

Carnivore : long, sharp, pointed teeth for ripping and chewing flesh. Jaw moves up and down ONLY for tearing and biting.
Human : Have molars for crushing and grinding and jaws that move side to side for eating vegetation.

Carnivore : Saliva is acid for digesting animal protein.
Human: Saliva is alkaline and contains ptyalin for digestion of starch.

Carnivore : Stomach is a simple round sack that secretes 10 times more hydrochloric acid than humans.
Human : Stomach is oblong, complex and convoluted with a duodenum, the tube that leads to the small intestine.

Carnivore : Intestines are 3 times the length of the trunk, i.e., about 6 ft. in length designed for rapid expulsion of meat, which rots quickly.
Human : Intestines are 12 times the length of our trunks, i.e., about 28 ft designed to keep food until all nutrients are extracted.

Carnivore : Liver will eliminate 10 - 15 times more uric acid than the human liver.
Human : Liver produces no "uricase" enzyme to eliminate uric acid.

Carnivore : Do not sweat through their skin and have no pores.
Human : Sweat through the skin to eliminate wastes.

Carnivore : Urine is acid.
Human : Urine is alkaline.

Carnivore : Tongue is rough for licking blood and flesh.
Human : Tongue is smooth.

Improperly Digested Protein :
When we humans eat meat, it has to pass through long and convoluted alkaline intestines that the meat stays in the human body for as much as 2 to 4 days before passing through in stool. During this time it is decomposing and putrefying at our constant 96.8 degree of body heat. This putrefaction releases and sends toxins throughout the body and is one of the major causes of colon and prostate problems, affecting people today. The toxic burden to the body caused by excessive protein consumption creates the "garbage" which disease viruses and bacteria feed on. Improperly digested protein poisons the lymphatic system, the bloodstream and the vital organs. The chemicals given to commercially raised animals destined for slaughter are highly dangerous. These entire Toxin garbage needs to be removed from the system, for which Ayurveda has an upper hand among all other system of Medicine. Ayurveda has described that there is broadly 2 lines of treatments.

  • Samana chikitsa
  • Shodhana chikitsa
When the amount of toxin present in the body is minimum, then internal medication will help to detoxify the toxins and balances the doshas inside the body, such a kind of treatment comes under the category called Samana chikitsa.
When the amount of toxin is in excess inside the shrotos (channels) and dhatus (tissues) then we need to flush out these toxins (just like we have to flush our toilets to clean the pan) first from the body through the PANCHAKARMA line of treatment and then medication is used to subside the rest of the doshas inside the body, such a kind of treatment comes under the category called Shodhana chikitsa.

Hence, panchakarma treatment is the only method to remove toxin deposits in our system over the years due to our ignorance.

  • Excess Protein Input into human system :
TOXINS FOUND IN ANIMAL FOODS ARE 100 TIMES MORE CONCENTRATED that those found in fruits and vegetables. Raw egg white and rattlesnake venom are, chemically, virtually the same. Excessive protein consumption is directly responsible for osteoporosis, teeth and gum disease, high cholesterol, acidosis, constipation, kidney infections and weakness, liver disease, water retention, arthritis, cancer, diabetes, allergies, hypertension and weak immune system, to name a few. (Reference: " The PRO Vita Plan" by Jack Tips, ND, Ph.D., 1996 Edition.)

    WHY DO PEOPLE EAT MEAT?
We can draw it down to 2 factors: One is the Ignorance and the other is Greed. It's easy for us to educate the mass who are ignorant due to lack of information and we are here to help you know the truth and for those people who are fortunate to know the truth of meat but are still eating blindly then no one can help them, not even GOD!!!

Our History and Our Present :
We have heard stories from our grandmother that it was the king who used to hunt and kill deer and eat the fresh flesh in those days (when deer was not an endangered species!!). And, we have learnt from science that our forefathers used to hunt and eat raw meat. Ayurveda has also mentioned about the properties of various animal meat. All these images don't give us the license to eat meat because :

    • Of our changed life style which is so much different than the days of our ancestors or our kings (more sedentary and comfortable lifestyle now).

    • Commercially procured meat has chemical preservatives and animal vaccines and antibodies.

    • We know the half-truth about meat eating.

Ayurveda has clearly stated that :
    • People who are under immense physical and mental stress and also emancipated chronically ill patients should take meat.
    • Meat should always be taken fresh.
    • Meat should always be eaten as soup; and the method is; boiling the 100gms of raw fresh meat with 8 times the water and reduce it to 2 and added ghee + trikatu + other spices to help it to digest properly.

Now, let's take a peep into the dietary habits with relation to Caste system in India. We see very clearly that the Brahmin sector diet was devoid of meat and other animal protein and maximum meat eating was among the Kyatriyas. It was so obvious that Brahmins, who were in pursuit for knowledge, were the educated mass and their work profile did not require physical strain leading to protein requirements from animal source. Whereas the Kyatriyas were the protectors; having intense physical strains in war trainings and fighting; hence; their body requirements for body building protein had to be compensated through animal protein.
So, it all draws down to increase our appetite for knowledge of our body and its requirements and how much to eat what and in which form. This knowledge will help us prevent so many illnesses that we see in our loved ones and around us.
